I had the opportunity to join a wonderful Indonesian family in their home kitchen and learn how to cook traditional Balinese dishes. From chopping ingredients to cooking over an open flame, my friend Adiwaya showed me on how to immerse myself in the culture and learn new cooking techniques. The family was incredibly welcoming and patient with my beginner-level cooking skills. Not only did I get to taste some amazing food afterwards, but I also got to experience the warmth and hospitality that is characteristic of Indonesian culture.
