what?
thanks for this video and happy you found this gig to do! Love the videos and channel.
Frick your age limits. Everyone comes of time when they come of time. You could die at 26 or get a doctorate at 65. Van "arbitrarily narrow-minded in on specific idea" "typist" Neistat
Imo the idea of a “life purpose” is limiting.
Really appreciate you opening up about your own struggles and journey through this. You're helping a great deal number of us.
I like you, man… you say good things… with a powerful voice.
👏👏
I 'wasted' my 20s taking care of my gma and supporting my wife find and start her dream career. now in my 30s I'm a little lost but I love photography and helping people with crappy diy videos. so idk if it should be a hard cut off mid 20s cause I definitely missed out on doing a lot because I chose to care for others. we had the energy then and no one else was stepping up like she needed. I don't and won't regret it but it did set me back maybe half a decade.
disagree van – didn't find mine until I was 27. So… maybe there's some float there.
This is funny because Kurt Vonnegurt is wildly unknown in Spain until one publishing house re edited slaughterhouse 5 a couple years ago. i came across an old, beaten up edition of god bless mr.rosewater that has never been re edited and i was thinking on doing the same thing just to have a reference version printed out so i dont destroy the book even more. The fact that you conducted this experiment with breakfast pf champions hits home haha
Keep it going man. You’re on the right path.
Wow I needed this video <3
Yeah, well, I can always start that photography business! (Joking; this was another great video … everyone needs a hobby, maybe uh, more than one hobby … Sorry it took you so long to setup for recording … )
So creative and unique!
Thank you Van
wow… youtube didnt gave me a notification about your uploads for such a long time and i have the bell on
I find it interesting that almost all of the YouTubers that I watch who have "made it," they all have a backstory of making videos with their friends when they were younger or something having to do with video/photography. It's a compulsion. Even if they weren't doing YouTube they would be making something in that medium. Many younger people who have grown up with "YouTuber" as a career field try to go into it without the passion. They want what they think YouTube gets you: the lifestyle.
Great video Van. Thanks a lot!
Im sorry, im gonna disagree with Van… I know that’s a sin. The number of people who have had huge impacts on the planet with careers that started after 25 is staggering. Rodney Dangerfield, Martha Stewart, Stan lee, Julia Child, Ray Kroc, Samuel L Jackson, and the list goes on and on…. You can also do it multiple times! Arnold Schwarzenegger changed careers 3 times! And you don’t have to change the world, Find something that sings to you, and when it doesn’t, find something else.
You had me until “god”
tell me you didn't say "sign from god" didn't take you as a theist.
appreciate the considerations for <25 year olds. I have a bunch of children who will be there in a few years, very interesting to help guide them or see what they will be good at. Dad the guidance counselor lol
I decided my line-in-the-sand cutoff for pursuing my life's purpose as a career is when I decided it was time to settle down, get married and start a family. I chose this because the additional responsibility of raising kids and supporting the family. I'm 37. Fortunately, I found a career that aligned with my life's purpose just before the cutoff. I'm getting married later this summer.
It sounds sad but honest
Do more art pieces! Do both film making and the art pieces on the side! Those are great, unique and a "true read" into the artist's mind. Keep up the great work Van
Awesome Van, thanks.
I love your content Van. Always inspiring and magnetic . Never stop please .
I feel like this terrible advice extends mainly to straight white guys
The 25 cut-off happens to be an objective reality. Many might not accept it because it is a bit harsh. It is discarded for the simple reason that it makes too much sense. And if it makes sense, does it represent life in its purest form?
Dude, I'm 100% sure this is your purpose! You're a catalysis of inspiration! love & respect brother
