Watch this be nolan’s best movie because:
1. It’s way more personal than any of his movies

2. Its based on history, so there’s no room for any non-linear mindfuckery like in his other movies.

Are they talking strictly in Nolan’s movies? Because the dude has been the lead of Peaky Blinders for the better part of a decade; not to mention 28 Days Later, Sunshine, and a plethora of other films

I am so looking forward to this. Oppenheimer was such an interesting character in himself with a man of many facets, a literal Janus made flesh in a time where he was enthralled by the science and horrified by it.

When I heard Murphy got the role, I was excited as his pedigree has never really had something this meaty. I foresee strong contention during awards season.

This is easily one of my top most anticipated of the year.

Well he does kind of look like Oppenheimer. Lucked out on that one. Cillian Murphy would be near the top list of any production wanting to do a film about Oppenheimer.

Cillian is from my hometown. Hes a treasure to us and is well known in the area for always being really down to earth, not interested in fame and very friendly. He went to school with my cousin as they’re both from Douglas. He said he was always sound out even in secondary school, although he didnt know him overly well. We’re all very proud of Cillian in Cork.

He definitely deserves it. A movie can be a piece of sh*t, but if he is in it, I will watch his part for sure.

The funny thing is, even after he became well known, he still took uncredited parts, other small roles, and small cameos, and didn’t make a big deal about it, even if the part was just a background part. It looks almost as if he was biding his time and using the small roles to build up to bigger ensemble roles, punctuated by an occasional main shared-role, and then going back to smaller ensemble roles in the meantime, all the while trying to place himself in a position where he could grab the kind of complex role that would propel him even higher.

If that is the case, then “Oppenheimer” could be it, and it could be the strong, complex breakout role that he has been waiting for. And it could also be one that takes him to the Oscars as well.

During the director’s commentary for ‘Batman Begins,’ Christopher Nolan mentions how he used any excuse to have Scarecrow take his glasses off because he loved Cillian’s eyes. I think it’s a collaboration both have wanted to do for a very long time.

He had a lead role in some terrorist movie where he’s trying to get some lady to help him. Red Eye I think. Was very watchable.

Also when he finds that windmill as his dad dies and he’s crushed emotionally like sixty different ways he sells that shit.

Love inception but they are shitting who seems to the one decent guy in the film.

It makes me wonder, did Nolan make Oppenheimer knowing he had Cilian on hand?

The likeness is very strong between the two, and Nolan is clearly casting for likeness if you look at his casting of Feynman.
