I work at a “Christian” based thrift store I’ll call Sally Army.
Don’t believe their bullshit either

Fuck yeah, Comrades! Demand the respect you deserve! ✊🏽✊🏻✊🏿✊🏼✊🏾

In Canada somewhat recently (Ontario) they found a burger king where a dozen or more employees were forced to live in the basement on cots and pay a large portion their wages to the guy who petitioned the government to allow him to hire temporary foreign workers (TFW’s) which an employer can deport for any reason or no reason at all. Not living in the basement was definitely a deportable offense in this case. We are circling the drain at this point.

Hell yes, definitely supporting this!

I wish I had done something more when something similar happened at my old job last summer… the building’s ac broke during a summer heat wave, so it was 90+ inside the store plus hotter by the ovens and equipment. Lasted 2 WEEKS before the area manager bothered to get it fixed, and did not give a flying fu– about all of the workers suffering from heat exhaustion.

The fact that anyone is making people work in situations like this is atrocious and deplorable.

My local Burger King is always a sweltering pressure cooker, no matter the season. Somebody has to tell corporate to rein these fucking good ol’ boy, bootstrappin’ franchisees in.

Hey I live around there!! Love to see locals taking action!! I will continue to not support BK while you strike for your rights!!

Best of luck, I have been on strike before and it can take time to get what you want. If I see you out there I will bring waters and snacks!!

KEEP IT UP!! THIS IS WHAT DEMOCRACY LOOKS LIKE!

Ugh, this is the worst. I worked at a Taco Bell briefly and was stuck in a 120F+ kitchen one day when the AC went out. Came to work the next day and it was still out so I quit cause fuck that noise.

> A customer even pointed out the store was hotter inside than outside!

Very true; There’s a big ass oven (or two!) back there. The backline workers probably have it the worst.

Good fucking job guys! I’m in the area, what can I do to show support in a way management can see customers on your side?

I almost got robbed at this particular burger king.

I worked at the best buy next door. I was on my lunch break, went for a quick dirty burger. Sketchy looking fellow rushed me while handing over my burger payment. Luckily I pulled my cash away in time.

props to these stiking workers, that neighborhood is rough for sure

Worked at a shithole schlotzsky’s for a while when I was younger. During the summer, it was 90-100+ degrees where I lived and the air conditioner broke. I worked in front of their shitty little sandwich oven and was literally dripping sweat.

Customers complained constantly, I kept throwing out food because I sweat onto it. management told me to stop throwing the food away even if that happened.

I eventually confronted the owner about the AC being broken and how hot it was and asked her to fix it because customers were complaining (knew she didn’t give a shit about us) and all she told me was “yeah it’s so weird right? Crazy it’s so hot” and that was it. Not weird, the AC was broken. Stopped showing up pretty shortly after that and they kept begging me to come back in even after 8+ no call no shows

Worked at a jimmy johns in Kansas City during the summer. The temp unit in the store was literally over 98 or 99 degrees and they wouldn’t close the store down for us.

Labour rights matter. The greed of the rich needs to be fought for everyone’s benefit.

Do they not have AC inside buildings in 2022 in California? That should be up there with access to water at this point

Good for you.. don’t forget to call your Mayor.. District supervisor.. and the governor… And OSHA .. make the calls every thing helps..but tell your coworkers to stand with you.. and the Community..Good luck

Sorry I’m all for fair wages and working conditions but if you think working at Burger King is hot versus cooking at an actual restaurant over a flat top and grill for 10hrs every day during lunch and supper rush you just don’t have what it takes to be a cook.

7 years as a cook at Applebee’s.

Damn that’s gotta be hot as fuck to be hotter inside that outside in fucking Sacramento
