Things like this has been happening to nurses, both figuratively and literally, for as long as I can remember. Nurses get assaulted on a daily basis and they call it occupational hazard. Calling us heros one minute then voting Ford the next. Does the public care about this!? I was a male nurse, I prefer just nurse mind you, up until recently, I just couldn’t see myself not hating everything if I kept working. The pay isn’t good for the dangers, the staffing is never appropriate and always understaffed, the wages are constantly being threatened even during the pandemic. The powers in charge did everything they could to butcher and then complain about healthcare in a hope to privatize.
I don’t think these people understand other humans won’t just do whatever they want and not just quit.

I am a manager at a large Toronto hospital. Over the years I’ve met many politicians who have visited the hospital (and my units) and have bore witness to them engaging with staff and patients. DoFo has visited my hospital several times over the past 4 years for photo-ops usually on the campus grounds… the hospital and landmarks in plain view in the background. He has never spoken to front line staff… ever. I’ll never (never have) vote for him or his party. He is a poor leader and human being… he is the worst.

Nurses were hero’s before the pandemic. If you spend any amount of time in the hospital pretty much everyone who works there is. Over worked and under funded … from the janitor to the heart surgeon .
